Our online VCA courses, containing teaching materials, practice questions, and all other functions on the e-learning platform are available in English. Students can easily switch the language from Dutch to English and the other way around. This applies to both "VCA Basis" and "VCA VOL" courses
A fee of €50 p.p. (excl. VAT) will be charged to take the official "VCA Basis" or "VCA VOL" exam in English. Please note: while entering student details in "Step 3" of the order form, you must use the "Select extra module" field to state your request to book an English exam. If not, you automatically will be signed up for a Dutch exam.
Including exam
If you are an operational employee at a contractor, you normally must have a "VCA Basis" diploma. This shows that you can work safely and consider the safety of yourself, your colleagues and any spectators.
The English course "VCA Basis" offers basic knowledge of safe and healthy working practices. The course discusses topics like (European) laws and regulations, how to recognize unsafe situations and how to take precautionary measures. The course will teach you how to work safely in high-risk environments like construction sites.
The "VCA Basis" English course can only be followed online. The corresponding exam, on the other hand, can only be taken at one of our 137 exam locations in the Netherlands.
You must possess the "VCA VOL" diploma if you work for a contractor as an operational manager or freelancer. It shows that you can work safely and ensure safe working conditions for the employees under your command.
The English course "VCA VOL" offers knowledge about: (European) laws and regulations, how to recognize unsafe situations and how to take prevention measures. Topics like the company's emergency plan and how to organize toolbox meetings are also discussed in the course. In other words, after completing the "VCA VOL" course you can work safely, while safely supervising employees for whom you are responsible.
The "VOL VCA" English course can only be followed online. The corresponding exam, on the other hand, can only be taken at one of our 137 exam locations in the Netherlands.

Once you've successfully completed the VCA exam you will receive a VCA diploma. This VCA diploma is valid for 10 years. After this period you will have to pass the exam again to renew your diploma.
